Flavio Albanese

 

Flavio Albanese (born in Vicenza in 1951), self-taught architect, designer and contemporary art’s collector and curator, has built up his professional career through experiences outside the academic world. He held conferences to International Institutes: Iuav Venezia, École Polytechinque Fédérale in Lausanne, Art Institute of Chicago, Yale University, Delft University, University of Florida. He was member of the scientific committee for Domus Academy and of MIart honour committee and coordinated the Officina at the port of Palermo, vice president of CISA (Center of Palladian Studies in Vicenza, and president of Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Vicenza. From May 2007 to March 2010 he was chief editor of prestigious international architecture and contemporary art magazine DOMUS. In 1987 he founded the architectural practice ASA Studioalbanese. Asa, based in Vicenza, Milan and soon in Berlin, has been nominated in 2003 edition of Mies Van Der Rohe Award for its Neores project; In 2004 and 2006 it was featured in the International Architecture Biennale in Venice. Flavio Albanese is currently member of the Advisory Board of Unicredit Bank for Northeast of  Italy.
