A lecture hall dedicated to Giulia Cecchettin with a red chair

The University of Padua remembers its young student and raises awareness against violence against women

On Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padua, a lecture hall dedicated to Giulia Cecchettin, a biomedical engineering student and victim of feminicide, was inaugurated and awarded a posthumous degree by the University. It is a moment of reflection and remembrance that is charged with meaning, not only to remember a young broken life, but also to reaffirm the commitment to the fight against gender-based violence.

The lecture hall dedicated to Giulia is not only a place of study. Furnished with desks and seats from the Thesi line provided by Aresline, the lecture hall is distinguished by one detail: a red seat as a warning against violence against women. An eloquent symbol that invites anyone who enters the classroom not to forget.

This project is fully integrated in the path of social responsibility started by Aresline, which has recently achieved the Certification on Gender Equality; consequently, the company has decided to strengthen its commitment by supporting the newly established Giulia Cecchettin Foundation, with the intention of launching future initiatives aimed at promoting women's empowerment. Participation in initiatives such as this testifies to how corporate values can materialize in meaningful projects for the community, going beyond products.
