“Architecture for Education”:

the advanced-training course promoted

by Aresline and YACademy starting in November

An excellence-oriented educational path, dedicated to architects and designers who wish to deepen their understanding of the potential of architecture in the education world and understand how well-designed spaces can influence learning processes and human well-being.

YACademy

YACademy is a postgraduate training institute dedicated to architecture. Founded in Bologna, Italy, with an international outlook, it serves as a meeting point between young designers and some of the most influential studios in contemporary architecture. Fifteen Pritzker Prize laureates are part of its faculty.

By combining theory and practice through lectures, workshops, site visits, and design labs, YACademy has become a benchmark for those who seek to address the most relevant challenges in architectural design today. It offers an experience that turns project-based study into an active dialogue with leading figures in the field of architecture.

A training initiative developed by Aresline

The course originates from an initiative by Aresline. The objective is to enhance the social and educational role of architecture, offering professionals both technical and theoretical tools to competently tackle the design of complex, sustainable and technologically advanced educational spaces. Through collaboration with YACademy, Aresline’s experience is translated into an innovative and multidisciplinary teaching program.

Lectures and workshops with the great masters of architecture

The course includes classroom and lab hours, with the participation of major international firms such as Herzog & de Meuron, SANAA, BIG, MVRDV, David Chipperfield Architects, Foster + Partners, Mario Cucinella Architects and many others. Topics addressed include: acoustics, lighting engineering, universal design, ergonomics, neuroscience applied to learning, regulations and sustainability.

Aresline’s contribution

Aresline actively participates in the teaching program with lectures dedicated to safety, furnishings and technical solutions for training spaces, presented by Pietro Conte, Piero Da Rin and Stefano Brunori.

Students will also have the opportunity to visit Aresline’s headquarters in Thiene (Vicenza), in order to get first-hand knowledge of the production chain and processes that lead to the realization of custom furnishings for schools, universities and training centres around the world.

A laboratory of ideas for architecture dedicated to education

The course will conclude with a design-lab focused on the creation of an advanced training centre for the Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi, directed by Giulio Rigoni (BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group).

A tangible experience that summarises the course’s vision: to train designers capable of combining design, functionality and educational value.

The course will begin on 24 November 2025 at the YACademy campus in Bologna.
