Parliament of Georgia
Focus
- 58 days from the approval of the drawings to the complete installation.
- Concerto armchair for the press.
- Custom-made project of the parliamentary desks and the bench of the Presidency. The main material is maplewood, which is also used as a finish in the acoustic architecture of the hall.
- High-tech parliamentary desks.
- Acoustic solutions and design: the ceiling, made with a fireproof support covered in maple, is anchored to a structure independent from the building which makes it accessible for inspection. The false ceiling has a double chamber that not only guarantees perfect acoustic correction, but also provides a space for air conditioning and air exchange.
The silhouettes, which house lighting fixtures and natural light vents coming from the outside, each represent a region of the Georgian Republic.

The Parliament was relocated from Tbilisi to Kutaisi to improve the local economy and create a symbol of national rebirth. The building, a futuristic glass dome, 100 metres long and 150 wide, stands over a 40,000 square metre surface. Its outfitting is an “Solutions on Demand” par excellence: the curved rows of seats for the members of Parliament on terraces give the idea of a wooden model while the President’s desk looks like a sculpture. The main material: wood, maple, also used for finishing touches to the room’s acoustic architecture, masterly crafted in the wall behind the President’s chair where Coat of Arms and Crosses, the symbol of Georgia, are carved and in the ceiling leaving space to a beautiful play on light.
Supporting this artistic flair is an extremely technological aspect. In fact, a microphone is installed in each chair along with a touch screen to vote and interact in the conference system and a socket to connect a computer or charge a Smartphone. The layout was completed with 200 Concerto seats for the Press and Observers.

An important aspect was that it only took 58 days from contract and construction/executive design date to complete assembly to ensure inauguration on Georgia’s Independence day, May 26th.
